Business Development & Operations Manager of Caravan Food Group Inc.

Theo Cacayan serves as the Business Development & Operations Manager at Caravan Food Group Inc. (CFGI), where he has dedicated 2 years to the company's four food and beverage brands across 10 Metro Manila locations. CFGI stands out for its commitment to employing the Filipino Deaf Community, with 56.5% of their workforce being Deaf, and for initiatives like "The GoOD Sign" seminar, promoting Basic Sign Language and Deaf Awareness. Recognized for their efforts, CFGI has received a Quezon City Council Resolution (No. SP-9228) and accolades such as the 2023 Apolinario Mabini Awards and the Manuel V. Agcaoili Award for Employer of the Year (Small Company Category). Theo is a graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management from the University of the Philippines Diliman (2014) and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Sustainability Management at Ateneo de Manila University. Additionally, he serves as a part-time instructor for the BS Restaurant Entrepreneurship Program at the same institution.

SYRUS BORJA GOMARI

CEO & Founder, Mobility Vision+

Syrus Gomari is the CEO & Founder of Mobility Vision+ and a DOST Balik Scientist for Pasig LGU and Taguig LGU (2022-2023). He brings a wealth of experience, having previously conducted Navigation Systems research at BMW Group and the Technical University of Munich (2018-2022), along with working as a Consultant for EU Commission Mobility Research and Innovation Projects at Rupprecht Consult (2016-2018). Syrus holds a PhD in Transportation Systems Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, an MSc in Infrastructure Planning with a focus on Transportation Planning from the University of Stuttgart, and a BSc in Civil Engineering from De La Salle University - Manila. His academic achievements include ranking in the Top 9 of the Civil Engineering Board Exam in May 2014, graduating Magna Cum Laude from DLSU in 2013, and earning recognition as the Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Student in the Philippines in 2012.

Aimee Gabrielle S. Adiwang

Filipino Sign Language Interpreter, Philippine National Association of Sign Language Interpreters

Aimee Gabrielle Adiwang is a passionate advocate for the Deaf community and their families, dedicating 12 years to this cause as an interpreter, equipper, and advocate. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of the Cordilleras in 2013 and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Special Education at the same institution. Aimee has been a freelance sign language interpreter since 2013, with previous roles as a Sign Language interpreter at La Salle Greenhills, Metro Manila (June 2019 - May 2021) and at NMS-Cares, Inc., Baguio City (October 2016 - January 2018).

Ouel Babasa

Multimedia artist & Copywriter, McCann Worldgroup Philippines

Ouel Babasa, a multimedia artist based in Manila, Philippines, boasts over 7 years of thriving experience in advertising creative at McCann Worldgroup Philippines, one of the country's prominent advertising companies. Currently, he serves as a copywriter, having previously held roles as social media manager from 2016 to 2019 and experience design director from 2019 to early 2023. Beyond his professional career, he dedicates his weekends to mentoring future creatives as a part-time college instructor at CIIT College of Arts and Technology. Ouel also has experience in live event production, having served as creative director for the now-defunct professional wrestling promotion, Philippine Wrestling Revolution (PWR), from 2014 to 2020. When not crafting copies for clients or shaping young minds, he divides his time between creating content on his growing TikTok platform (@owlwillread) and bering delulu for KPop biases.

Michael Allan Tomas, also known as “Panthera Arma”. The first hard-of-hearing drag queen in the Philippines and a PWD advocate. Currently working as a finance and administration officer for WWF-Philippines (an NGO). Featured on numerous social media channels like ABS-CBN News Online, Mega Drag PH, Iskoolmates (PTV4), etc. Awarded as “Huwarang Indibidwal” by the Jesse Robredo Foundation in 2023.

Mona Celine Marie V. Yap

Quezon City Government Department Head III, Small Business Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office

Throughout her young career, Mona Celine Yap has always advocated for micro and small businesses as drivers of innovation and development. After finishing her studies at Ateneo de Manila University and attaining a post-graduate degree in Public Management, she worked as a program officer under the Office of then Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV where she engaged and helped develop our MSMEs all over the Philippines through the implementation of the Go Negosyo Act. Now, as the youngest department head under Mayor Joy Belmonte, she brings her passion and experience to promote and develop Quezon City micro and small enterprises and entrepreneurs through the QC Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office.

Grace Punzalan is a seasoned Human Resource Practitioner, with areas of expertise in Talent Management, Recruitment, Learning and Development and OD.   She is currently the HR Business Partner and Talent Acquisition and Development Lead for Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD).  She is also MSD Philippines’ Lead for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and interim HR Lead.Prior to her Pharmaceutical industry experience, she had also worked for other multi-national organizations in the IT Industry such as Sun Microsystems, Oracle, and Accenture, organizations which were very forward looking on D&I.   Outside of her career in HR, she is a mother of 2 young adults, a wife, and a daughter, and now starting a new passion in Shared Leadership Coaching.

Gustavo González

Mr. Gustavo González brings more than 25 years of extensive managerial and leadership experience in development, humanitarian affairs and peacebuilding, performing for several UN entities across 3 continents (Central America, Africa and Middle-East). More recently, Mr. González worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as Director of the Business Development and Resource Mobilization Division.

He was the UNDP Senior Country Director in Yemen during the Arab Spring transition, Country Director in Burundi and Head of the Post-Conflict Unit in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He also served in various peacebuilding and reconstruction programmes in Guinea Bissau, working for the International Organization for Migration (IOM); in Central African Republic, for the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS); in Angola, Liberia and Mozambique for the UN Department of Humanitarian Affairs, and in Nicaragua, for the Organization of American States (OAS). Mr. Gonzalez holds a Master Diploma from the University of Oxford-Said Business School (UK), and a Master in Philosophy from the Universidad del Salvador (Argentina). He is fluent in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.

Mae Paner, also known as Juana Change, is a political activist, producer, author and an award-winning actress. She is more popularly known as Juana Change. She appeared in several TV teleseryes and movies including Juana C. The Movie, Lav Diaz’s Norte, Ang Babaeng Humayo, among many others.

Her hilarious and convincing portrayal as a lesbian-playing “lover” in the charming comedy Si Chedeng at si Apple earned her the Best Supporting Actress plum in the 2017 Cinema One Originals Film Festival. The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) during its 50 anniversary in 2017 awarded her a citation for continuing its vision towards social justice for all and genuine change.

Maria Glorian Tomen

Founder, Big Dreams for Little People - Philippines Inc.

Maria Glorian Tomen is a graduate of AB Communication, Major in Broadcast Journalism at Holy Angel University. She is currently employed at My Home Philippines. Prior to this, she was part of the City Government of Angeles- City Information Office as one of the writers/researchers. Aside from her work, she is also a Dwarfism Awareness Advocate and Founding Member of Big Dreams for Little People – Philippines Inc., a non-profit organization that aims to enhance awareness and advocate for the protection of the rights and welfare of Little People in the Philippines as well as to promote equal opportunity.

On January 28, 2017, she organized the country’s first event dedicated for her fellow little people with the theme “Big Dreams for Little People” which was attended by more than 50 delegates from all over Manila and Pampanga. She was awarded as the Most Outstanding Kapampangan (MOKA) in 2019 for- Social Service Category and a Women of the Future South East Asia shortlisted candidate in 2021 for- Community Spirit and Public Service Category.

Teddy Baguilat

Public Servant/Journalist/Activist and Advocate of rights of indigenous people and minority groups

Teodoro “Teddy’ Brawner Baguilat Jr. is an advocate for Ifugao, Indigenous Peoples rights, the environment and human rights and has served various elective seats in Ifugao. Hailing from the Tuwali and Gaddang tribes, Baguilat served as a municipal councilor and mayor of Kiangan, Ifugao, before becoming a two-term provincial governor and representative of the lone district of Ifugao from 2010 to 2019. As district representative, he principally authored at least 34 laws, including the Sagip Saka Law, the 105-Day Expanded Maternity Leave Law and the Free Internet Access in Public Spaces Act.

He consistently championed the causes of indigenous peoples, the environment, and human rights. He also proposed laws in support of responsible mining, forest management, health rights, education, equality, and even free wi-fi access. He also advanced laws promoting Philippine culture such as the OPM Development bill. Aside from pushing his advocacies forward, Teddy takes his recreation to the mountains, he loves to hike and mountain climb as these activities allow him to be closer to the elements he seeks to protect.

Carmen Zubiaga

President, WOW - LEAP

Carmen Zubiaga is a consultant and advocate for gender equality, disability and social inclusion. She was the president and chief executive officer of Women with Disabilities Leap to Social and Economic Progress or WOW-LEAP. On social media, she simply describes herself as "a woman in a wheelchair advocating for change and inclusion of persons with disabilities in a rights-based society." Zubiaga also served as acting executive director of the National Council on Disability Affairs from 2012 to 2019.

Gayle Antes

Co-founder, Sorbelato & Soyblessed

Gayle Antes moved to Los Angeles, California back in 1994 and began her career in the healthcare industry as a receptionist. She worked her way up and became the youngest Accounts Receivable Regional Financial Consultant of one of the biggest healthcare companies in Southern California. She also became a part of an integral team that is responsible for developing new businesses and acquisitions in one of the biggest healthcare companies in the United States. In 2014, Gayle and her husband eventually moved back to the Philippines to pursue their calling called “Business as Mission” that aims to holistically improve the lives of the people in the community. They founded and owned Antes Rentals, and Antes Dealership.

Gayle also co-founded Sorbelato & Soyblessed, Avenida Pedestrian Delights, PANTAS Global Consultancy, Inc., and Eunoia Philippines. After receiving her master’s degree in Entrepreneurship in 2019, she became a guest lecturer for business and entrepreneurship for post graduate students. Gayle is currently pursuing her PhD in Family Studies to help strengthen her advocacy to improve the lives of the Filipino community by focusing on the relationship of family systems and systemic poverty.

Maroz Ramos

Executive Director, GALANG Philippines

Maria Rose "Maroz" Galang is GALANG Philippines, Inc.’s Executive Director. GALANG Philippines is a feminist human rights non-government organization working with and for the empowerment of economically disadvantaged Filipino lesbians, bisexual women, and trans men to attain socio-economic equity. Maroz is a seasoned development worker and human rights advocate with more than 20 years of experience working with marginalized groups, including children and youth, farmers, urban poor, women, and LGBTQIA+. Before becoming a fulltime LGBTQIA+ equality and diversity advocate, Maroz worked with various government and private organizations where she has gained competencies in productivity and quality management systems, public finance, and transformative governance. Maroz holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Disney Aguila

Former President, Pinoy Deaf Philippines

Disney Aguila is a Filipina Deaf transgender woman and a leader in the Deaf LGBTQ community in the Philippines. She's been involved with the Pinoy Deaf Rainbow (PDR) organization since it's founding in 2010 and has served as the organization's president since 2018. She's also involved with the TransDeaf Philippines organization.

Julia Abad

Executive Director, Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment

Ms. Abad has about 20 years of experience working in the fields of politics, public policy, and social development. At present, she is the Executive Director of the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE), which advocates for the increased participation and advancement of women in the workplace. She also sits at the Board of Advisors of the Philippine Business for Education (PBEd), and at the Board of Trustees of PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College (COC) and Araullo University.

She was the former Head of the Presidential Management Staff from 2010-2016, and Chief of Staff of then Senator Benigno S. Aquino III. Prior to her stint in government. She worked as an educator, lecturing in political science and helping to develop a citizenship curriculum for young children. She has also worked in the non-profit sector as a research and communications specialist. She was honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2014 and recognized as one of Manila’s 40 under 40 Leaders in International Development by devex.com in 2013.

Ronald Rodriguez

Co Founder, Marhay na GIBO - MNG Community and Executive Director, Burabod Musika

Ronald ‘Bong’ A. Rodriguez is the co-founder and General Manager of the Marhay Na Gibo Consumers Cooperative (MNGCC), as well as the CEO of LEARNr Corporation, a training company that he created to enable the Bicol Region’s growing human resources. He is the founding President of HAKA Naga, the startup community of Naga City. Before returning to Bicol, he was CEO of his own Analytics-driven startup company, BUGHAW DIGITAL, Inc. and Chairman of the BizInfo Systems and Solutions Corp, a systems integration company. He is one of the pioneers of data-driven digital political campaigns in the Philippines. Rodriguez’ extensive professional experience has spanned more than 28 years in the public and private sectors so far. In the public sector, he had the privilege of serving the Foreign Service Institute of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Presidential Management Staff, and the Office of the President in various capacities over a period of 13 years. He considers having written speeches for President Fidel V. Ramos an honor of his lifetime. He holds a Master of Science Degree in State, Society, and Development, major in Political Sociology, from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) where he was a Chevening scholar.

Twinkle Ferraren

Artist & Designer, Twinkle Ferraren

Twinkle Ferraren is an independent fashion, accessory, and textile designer. Her personal search for identity and heritage has led to an on-going yearning and exploration to learn more about her country, the islands, the people and the textiles. She established her own bespoke island wear label Twinkle*Ferraren and promotes the use of natural materials and indigenous textiles in the Philippines through her passion project “Style Isle.” With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Twinkle works closely with artisan communities to research and create sustainable, ethical business practices for her design labels.

Timothy Salomon

Coordinator, National Land Coalition

Timothy Salomon is a gay reformist who believes in the power of multi-stakeholder dialogue to bring diverse voices to harmony. He currently serves as National Coordinator of the National Land Coalition in the Philippines (NLC Ph) leading an alliance of civil society organizations and social movements working on land rights and natural resource governance in protecting gains from past and present reforms, and innovating solutions to address emerging and contemporary issues. He also dabbles in standup comedy as a featured comedian in the Abante Babae line-up of Comedy Manila.
